Vietri Incanto Lace Salad Plate 9"
Incanto ("enchantment") is created by an Italian maestro with designs from his family's heirloom dinnerware and his country's art ad history. Artisans wash a white glaze over each piece made of a special brown clay ("terra marrone"), tradtionally used for large sculptures and wall art. A denser clay than tradtional terra cotta, it is fired at higher temperatures and can withstand microwave, oven and dishwasher. Combining whimsy with elegance, the Vieri Incanto collection invites countless combinations of patterns and shapes. Handmade in Italy. The Incanto Collection is also a perfect addition to any bridal registry!
Vietri (pronounced Vee-ay-tree) is an American importer of Italian handcrafted tableware. Founded 30 years ago by the Gravely sisters Frances and Susan with their mother after becoming enchanted by the colorful ceramics they discovered on a tour of Southern Italy, it has since become one of the most successful importers of Italian handscrafted ceramics, glassware, flatware and table linens in the States. Beginning with a manufacturer in the small Italian fishing village Vietri sul Mare near the Amalfi coast, they now work with more than 40 manufacturers scattered across Italy. The name is a play on "tre vite" - Italian for "three lives." The VIETRI brand combines the richness of European culture with a sophisticated American spirit. Fashion forward, yet classic, Italian home accessories are designed to complement the good life and celebrate Italy and all that it encompasses - a love of life, people, nature, and simply good living. Families of artisans handcraft many of VIETRI's products with 3 or 4 generations of history using centuries-old techniques. The subtle color from a paintbrush and the curving stroke of the artist's hand are never repeated in quite the same way, making ieach VIETRI piece truly unique.
All VIETRI Incanto dinnerware and serving accessories are microwave, oven and dishwasher safe. All dinnerware and serving accessories meet FDA and Prop 65 requirements. We recommend hand washing decorative or oversized pieces. Over time, crazing--the formation of miniscule lines in the glaze--may occur on ceramics. This contributes to the unique visual appeal of quality Italian earthenware and does not affect the durability or safety of the product. Since earthenware is porous, it expands and contracts with extreme heat and cold. Do not place ceramics in the freezer. When cooking with Incanto, place the dish in a room temperature oven allowing it to heat slowly. Do not preheat oven. Do not place hot casseroles and baking dishes on cool, damp or unprotected surfaces. Do not freeze or put them directly from the refrigerator to the oven. Handles are decorative and should not be used for support. Remove baking dishes from the oven by holding the body of the dish, supporting the base. Do not use casserole lids in the oven. If you follow these simple rules, your Incanto oven and dinnerware should serve you well for a long time.
