Product Description

Perles silver placesetting features a row of tiny silver pearls tracing the edge of each piece. In silverplate on a nickel silver body. Chambly makes quite possibly the best silverplate on the market today. The company has been handcrafting superior silverplate flatware in France since 1894. The silver content on each piece (42 microns of pure silver, equating to 100 grams of silver per set) is guaranteed by French law and evidence by the square stamp imprinted on each piece. this contrasts with the 3-5 microns commonly found on much silverplating from Asia and the U.S. Chambly uses high grade nickel silver--an alloy of nickel and copper--fopr the base of it s silverplate. Sometimes called "white metal because of the 12% nickel content that makes it appear white, this metal is safe if de-plated, has an affinity for silver bonding, and has the weight, feel and consistency of real sterling. This Perles placesetting consists of five pieces: table knife, table fork, salad/dessert fork, soup/dessert spoon and coffee spoon.

Since 1894 Chambly French silversmiths have been applying century-old savoir faire and a relentless pursuit of perfection to the handcrafting of flatware, sterling silver, nickel silverplate, and now 18/10 chrome stainless.  The square stamp "Chambly France" affixed to each piece guarantees a heavy nickel and chrome stainless over 1/8 of an inch thick.
